Programme to Support Non-State Actors in Tanzania
Objectives:
To empower non-state actors to be informed of and to contribute to the formulation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of development policies and processes at all levels in a more structured way.
- build technical and institutional capacity of NSAs to effectively engage in regular dialogue, information exchange and networking on development issues.
Activities:
- training on advocacy, policy dialogue and organisational management
- learning platforms to share experience amongst CSOs, on policies, relevant processes...
- peer reviews
- popularised versions of policy documents
- civic education campaigns
- identification and dissemination of information on policies, developments ....
- strenthening resource centres and networking
- facilitate discussions around rules of engagement between civil society and Government
- explore prospects of an NSA coordination body
- organise tripartite meetings between the EC, Government and NSAs to improve involvement of NSA in implementation of EC co-operation
