Participation of Vulnerable People in Decentralised Development Planning and Budgeting in TZ


Objectives:
To contribute to the achievement of MKUKUTA's overall goals.
To ensure that the concerns and entitlements of vulnerable people (older people and OVCs) are incorporated into decentralised district planning and budgeting in order to support the achievement of MKUKUTA targets to improve delivery of pro-poor services.

Activities:
- formation of Older People's Forums and Older People's Monitoring Groups (OPMG)
- linking OPMGs with Ward Development Councils and District Forums
- improve the availability of data on vulnerable groups at district level
- map existing informal safety nets at village level
- inform vulnerable groups of their entitlements
- provide identity cards to older people
- provide mosquito nets, water wells, and school uniforms and materials to OVCs
- evidence based advocacy at local, national and international level
- monitor target achievements by OPMGs
