National Organisation for Legal Assistance (NOLA)


Objectives:
- Promote access to justice for indigent people, special focus on legal representation of rural populations

Activities:
- Promote access to justice to indigent people through establishment of legal aid clinics, legal aid counselling, and capacity building of legal aid officers
- Create joint forum of main actors for promoting the role of paralegals, identify advocacy issues to promote the role of paralegals, and establish database for available paralegal centres
- Provide legal aid and promote legal literacy

• Provision of legal aid services in remote districts of Tanzania mainland
• Undertaking of research, documentation and publication
• Undertaking of strategic litigation against laws that impede human rights and access to justice
• Lobbying and advocating for reform of state policies, laws and practices hindering access to justice
