Independent Forest Monitoring


Objectives:
Establish a functioning, broad-based and legitimate IFM process in Tanzania that contributes to good governance, effective forest management and national development with the full buy-in of government, civil society, local communities and the private sector.

Activities:
- Monitoring administrative permit allocations
- Tracking legal cases
- Monitoring certification of legality
- Testing the integrity and value of National Forestry and Beekeeping Database (NAFOBEDA)
- Analysing trade data
- Monitoring environmental and social issues
- Monitoring revenue transparency and benefit distribution
- Capacity building assistance to law enforcement officers
