Implementation of the Strategic Plan 2007 - 2009;Making polcies work for people in Tanzania
Objectives:
• The implications and impact of policies are analysed, monitored independently and the resulting information is used by broad base of civil society and advocacy groups to improve the effectiveness and quality of their advocacy.
• Analysis and monitoring information produced by Policy Forum is widely used in targeted advocacy strategies to policy makers, media, civil society and the general public
• The capability of CSOs to understand, to monitor and to strategically, proactively and effectively engage with and influence national and local policy processes is progrssively enhanced
• Active participation by policy Forum as a network in national policy processes is selective and strategic in order to engage where impact is most likely to be achie
Activities:
• The Policy Forum is well placed and policy analysis and information is widely shared
• The public takes a greater interest in the acquisition and use of public money due to increased availability and accessibility of information in the public arena - public expenditure tracking
• Reporting on policy issues debate within the media - Monthly Breakfast Debates
• Networks and coalitions begin to form
• Interaction and collaboration between Policy Forum and the academic community
• Support for Policy Forum members to effectively institutionalize policy work within their organisations
• Proactive participarion in the budget process
• Popularization of policy documents
