Objectives: Biodiversity Conserved in Targeted Landscapes through a Livelihood Driven Approach
Activities: Activities focus on conserving biodiversity by improving rural livelihoods over broad-based areas by: supporting local actions that establish income enhancing partnerships with local community based organizations and women’s groups; implementing the national integrated coastal environment management strategy; promoting sustainable coastal and marine resources management through co-management of near-shore fisheries areas, small-scale enterprise development, the introduction of mariculture activities and coastal tourism; facilitating community conservation efforts in targeted landscapes and in a pilot wildlife management areas, including environmental education, social mobilization, materials development, and outreach through successful Environmental Awards program and applying policies
