Democracy and Governance


Objectives:
Public Accountability Strengthened in Selected Policy Areas. Also the MCA Threshold Program is to reduce corruption and improve the fiscal management

Activities:
The program will promote increased public accountability at the national and local levels by : building the capacity of Parliament’s budget-focused officials and committees, those responsible for health, HIV/AIDS, environment, education policies, new women Parliamentarians, emphasizing subjects such as sounds research practices and how to fight corruption and monitor poverty reduction; strengthening civil society and NGO advocacy networks – NGO’s are receiving training in advocacy and financial management and public service delivery and Public Expenditure Tracking at the local level.
