Community Health Based Initiative CBHI
Objectives: 1. Communities identify and implement health initiatives on their own and procure services
from service providers in the NGO, public and private sectors.
2. Develop and/or improve local mechanisms to address health needs of the most vulnerable
members.
3. Communities understand their rights and responsibilities and actively participate in the
health sector refonn (HSR) process.
4. Experiences at micro level contribute to the health sector refonn (HSR) process through
policy dialogue.
5. Community groups make better use of available resources to improve their health and contribute to Health Sector Reform.
