Changing lives, changing communities! Comprehensive community based rehabilitation for people with disabilities in Tanzania
Objectives:
- Alleviation of poverty by improving the quality of life specifically of disadvantaged persons living with disabilities and those with HIV/Aids as well as their families and to enable them to claim and use their legitimate human rights
- Improve the quality of life of PWDs and those living with and affected by HIV/Aids by expanding the area of intervention to so far underserved targets groups in Morogoro, Rufiji (Pwani-River), Tanga, Zanzibar, Pemba areas as well as by intensifying and improving existing services
Activities:
- Intensify training/human resources development
- Strengthening, intensification and expansion of community based services (CBR)
- Community based services in new areas, increase in outreach services and the development of satellite clinics
- Centre based services from restorative and rehabilitative departments for referral from outreach
