WFP’s collaboration with CSOs is mainly characterized by support services that are time-bound to project implementation agreements as well as policy advocacy and mainstreaming initiatives (at macro and micro levels), in which the agency works closely with NGOs,churches/mosques, foundations, local hospitals and community groups. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is the overall supervisor of the project, MoH and Social Welfare provides guidance and technical assistance. Identification and selection of beneficiaries is the responsibility of the NGO/CSO in cooperation with government at district level. MOUs are signed with PMO and each NGO/Health facility and district council according to their specific responsibilities.
Strategical Framework/Country Strategy of Cooperation in Tanzania:WFP’s overall strategic objective in Tanzania includes assisting the Government to meet the goals of the MDGs, MKUKUTA and MKUZA.
